Dressing for your bump

It becomes increasingly difficult to dress for your shape when your pregnant bump makes itself known. I found tops were not long enough, dresses were suddenly too tight and too short and most pants didn’t have a hope of staying upright even with the buttons undone and elastic expanders. During the last 8.5 months I have worked out some styles and designs that work well for an ever expanding body. Take a look at some of these inexpensive options from ASOS to stay in the fashion game whilst knocked up.

DRESSES

Look for stretchy fabrics that will grow with you (and allow you to wear them post pregnancy). You’ll find a number of the below items aren’t specifically maternity wear, however their fabrics make them versatile. Consider swing style cotton dresses for warmer conditions, knee length or longer styles that won’t ride up to unruly lengths when your belly grows and a few maxi dresses that can cover all sins (aka swelling ankles).

I have preferred to wear fitted tops and looser bottoms. Singlets, boyfriend style T-shirts and most importantly lots of length in the body.
